Professor Sharad is a NHMRC Level 3 Investigator and holds a Bradley Distinguished Professorship and the Chair of Cancer Biology at the University of South Australia. He is the co-founder (Co-Director until Feb 2020) of the Centre for Cancer Biology (CCB). His laboratory has made several seminal contributions to cell biology and cancer biology, through discoveries in cell death mechanisms and protein modification via ubiqutination. The team also investigates the role of ubiquitination in the regulation of membrane proteins and in the biogenesis of extracellular vesicles. He is a Felllow of the Australian Academy of Science as well as AAHMS.
